Subscriptions and billing
How billing status controls NuGet feed access.
1. Subscription statuses
| Status | Access granted? | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Trialing | Yes, until the trial end date | The buyer is in a free trial and can restore packages. |
| Active | Yes | Normal paid subscription. |
| Past due | Yes | Stripe is retrying payment. Access stays on during retry. |
| Cancelled | No | Subscriber and team-member credentials are revoked. |
| Suspended | No | Platform action has disabled access and revoked credentials. |
2. Billing portal
Subscribers manage payment methods, invoices, and cancellation through the Stripe billing portal linked from the dashboard. Publishers do not need to manually collect card changes or invoice requests.
If payment fails, Stripe moves the subscription to Past due while it retries payment. Because Past due still grants access, customers can keep working while the payment issue is resolved.
3. When access ends
When a subscription becomes Cancelled or Suspended, pkgstore revokes active restore credentials for the subscriber and team members. New restores and package downloads return forbidden. Packages already restored into a local NuGet cache remain on that machine, because pkgstore cannot remove local files.
If access is restored later, the subscriber can generate new credentials from the product page.
